German national team Sporting Director, Matthias Sammer and Stuttgart striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martin-Harnik-c24374 accuse Bayern Munich winger of play-acting.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 slumped to a controversial 2-1 defeat at the hands of Jupp Heynckes’s side on Sunday, December 11, 2011.
The Swabians scored in the 6th minute thanks to a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Gentner-c9080 strike but a brace from Mario Gomez sunk Stuttgart in their own backyard.
Host defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristian-Molinaro-c9562 was sent off in the 30th minute after continuous fouls on Robben. Die Roten officials have launched an attack on the Bavarian winger and have accused him of play-acting.
The Swabians have lodged an official complaint to the German Football Federation requesting them to look into the matter.
Stuttgart manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bruno-c8098 Labbadia, reserved heavy criticism for the Dutchman and accused him of diving on numerous occasions during Sunday’s encounter.
Die Roten midfielder, Martin Harnik, also lamented his teammate’s dismissal after Robben’s intentional dive on the half hour mark. He opined that an experienced and big name player like Robben should have brought the sportsman
spirit into play rather than creating a drama in the middle.
Harnik added, "Robben is someone who goes to ground fairly easily and is in the air even before contact.”
German National team Sporting Director, Matthias Sammer, also spoke in favour of the affected defender and reserved sympathy for the left back.
"It is clear that Robben waits for such situations [fouls] and makes the most of them."
However, Robben’s club Sporting Director, Christian Nerlinger, took a swipe at the Reds and insisted that it was a clear foul from Molinero and Stuttgart are trying to make excuses for their defeat.
"Arjen is clearly not an actor or a provocateur. The fouls were clear. Whomever says otherwise is attempting to distance himself from his own problems."
The Dutchman continues his return from injury and has managed just seven league appearances this season to go along with four goals.
Bayern will take on F.C Koln in their next game on Friday, December 16, 2011. On the other hand, Stuttgart will face struggling Wolfsburg side the next day.
