The Bayern Munich winger is delighted with the way things went in the first-leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 has showed his delight after beating Olympique Marseille in the first-leg of the Champions League quarter-final. Both sides locked heads on Wednesday, March 28, at the Stade Velodrome with the visitors emerging 2-0
winners. Mario Gomez and Robben netted for the Reds to earn an impressive two-goal advantage before the second-leg at home next week.
The winger assisted Gomez right at the stroke of half-time to go 1-0 up in the 44th minute before scoring himself on the 69th minute mark to mark a comfortable victory in the end.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 player admitted that the Munich giants have earned themselves a huge advantage by winning away from home. However, he urged his teammates not to relax as Marseille would come all out in the second-leg as they
have nothing to lose.
Robben advised his teammates to respect the opponents despite gaining a two-goal lead, which could be impossible for Les Phoceens to overcome when they visit the Allianz Arena on April 3. While talking to UEFA.com, the Dutchman
further added:
“We can be really satisfied. If you win 2-0 away from home in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League you can be happy. We have made a big step because two goals is a big advantage. They will have to come to Munich and
score twice. We'll need to concentrate from the first minute of the second leg but we will go in to the game with a lot of confidence."
On the other hand, Robben mused that he wants to take one game at a time and does not want to think about a possible Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid. The Spanish outfit is also sitting in ascendancy after their 3-0
win over APOEL Nicosia in the first-leg and will meet Bayern in the last-four if both sides progress.
"I don't want to talk about the semi-final too much because you have to respect your opponent. There are still 90 minutes to play and we have to decide the quarter-final first of all," Robben concluded.
The Munich giants will next be in action against Nuremberg on Saturday, March 31, before hosting OM for the return leg on April 3.
