Arjen Robben requests the fans to be patient with him - Bundesliga News
Having returned from a long term injury last Saturday, Bayern Munich winger, Arjen Robben, has requested the fans to stay patient if they want to see him at his best.
He wished to perform well in the upcoming game against Werder Bremen and possibly score a goal to settle the nerves after returning from injury.
Bayern Munich had to spend most of the first half of this season without Robben, who was ruled out due to a minor groin problem which later aggrevated into a public bone injury.
As a result, the winger was ruled out for three months and recently made a return against the reigning German champions, Borussia Dortmund. The Dutchmen, though, was unable to make any impact on the game before being substituted in the 72nd minute.
He confirmed of his health and expressed satisfaction at his return from injury. He showed gratitude to the club’s medical staff for their untiring efforts that enabled him to make a successful return.
While talking to Voetbal International, the Netherlands international further elaborated:
"I've had pain three months from the start of the competition. This was a pubic bone inflammation, a complicated injury and the worst injury I ever had. No idea how it was created; it can happen to anyone."
The player requested the fans to be patient if they want to see the best out of him. He told that it was a career-threatening injury which would definitely require some time to get fixed.
"It will take time to get back to my old level. I need to establish some rhythm and that is only done through minutes [on the field]. Physically, I will get better, [but] above all, I must have confidence in my body to recover." Robben concluded.
The winger has so far made five league appearances this season, bagging two goals during the process. After being left on the bench in the club’s last league game at Mainz, Robben would be hoping to make the cut for a starting XI spot on Saturday against
Werder Bremen.
A win for the Reds could lead them back to the top of the league table but a loss would push them down further in the league standings.
