After being continuously on the sidelines due to injury, Bayern Munich winger, Arjen Robben, has finally returned to training. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 international, though, is still unsure of his return date and wants to take one step at a time in order to ensure
his fitness for rest of the season.
Robben has only tasted a small chunk of the 2011/12 campaign and has been on the sidelines for majority of the season. The player suffered a groin problem in early parts of the competition and was ruled out for an indefinite period by the club’s medical
staff.
The Dutchmen tried to make a return in first team during a Champions League game but couldn’t survive the whole of 90 minutes. He only aggravated his injury and once again was forced away from action for upto three weeks.
This situation didn’t impress the Dutch national team manager at all, who criticised the Bayern officials for not dealing properly with Robben’s condition. He later urged the Reds medical team to work hard on the player’s fitness ahead of the all-important
Euro 2012.
Robben, on the other hand, stated his desire of returning to action in time ahead of the Champions League second-leg clash against Manchester City. He told that he isn’t one hundred percent fit but is training hard with the team in order to get back.
While talking to Voetbal International, the 27-year-old further enthused:
"Things are going in the right direction, but I still have to be patient. I have yet to return to full fitness and am not in a rush. I don't want to put any pressure on myself by setting a return date."
Bayern manager, Jupp Heynckes, also confirmed of Robben’s return to training but refrained from announcing the player’s return date. He expressed delight on having the winger back in training and wished him a quick return to action.
The Bavarian giants are surely incomplete without the Dutch winger but have adjusted perfectly in the player’s absence. They find themselves atop the Bundesliga and their Champions League Group, and would only grow more lethal with Robben's inclusion.
