Arjun Atwal’s dreams shatter as he fails to qualify for the PGA Tour and the Web.com Tour
The Indian golfer, Arjun Atwal could not manage to earn a status on either the Professional Golf Association Tour or the Web.com Tour for 2013 season.
Indian golfers do not have what it takes to play at the level where the top golfers in the world play.
There have been numerous efforts by the Indian Golf Union to promote the sport at a higher level. The sponsors have been throwing money at the union to support the players, yet these golfers have failed to perform time and again.
Atwal is not any stranger to failure. He has not performed as well as it was expected from him.
Although the Indian golfer was not expected to win major championship titles or any other title for that matter, at least qualifying for the PGA or the Web Tour was something the golfer should have done.
By failing to do so the Indian has shown what an utter disappointment he is to the Indian golf union.
Golf is not one of the most played sports in India but, with so much money involved in promoting the sport, players should at the least show some results.
Atwal has shown some promise but unfortunately it has not been with a golf club.
As the 2013 season is about to start, Indian golfers will have to show positive results or they will have to come up with other ideas to run their houses.
In the women’s circuit there is still a little hope for India because Indian women golfers have performed better than their male counterparts in the past. In a tournament that was held recently, some of the players almost made the cut.
Indian players have got all the facilities available to polish their game, and to compete at that level, they will have to improve their game drastically or they will not stand a chance.
Although the golfer has not been able to perform as per the required standards, he has the 2013 season to make it happen this time around.
