Well, I will be taking the motorcycle skills test within the week and i was wondering what should I expect. I've heard all we do is go around the block and they follow me and i've seen that other states makes you ride a course doing a series of maneuvers.

  1. Probably depends on the state and what their requirements are.  I know that if you take the MSF class (at least here in Colorado) you're evaluated in several different major skill areas, like U-Turn in a box, braking, swerving, and cornering. If you pass, you just have to take your completion card to your DMV and they will give you your motorcycle endorsement without any other tests. It's worth it to take the safety course unless you've already gotten all those skills down and then it really wouldn't matter what your DMV test would be because it's probably easier than what the MSF class does..

  2. I took it in Springdale, AR.  i had to go straight between two cones, take a 90 left turn, straight through to more cones, another 90 degree left, straight again, and come to a stop.  it was all in the parking lot
