you can get much information in this website, kindly stay a minute in website and check anyone link at a time

  2. Neither.  The advanced Los Angeles attack sub would put them both on the bottom.

  3. The design mission of the Ticonderoga is more suited to both to attack and defend against attacks at longer range than the Arleigh Burke class destroyer.   But naval battles have been won and lost due to luck and leadership of the captains and the heroism of the crews.  I wouldn't want to tempt fate and predict what would happen.

  4. I think the Ti class would win, mainly due to the A.B. having vertical launch tubes. The other reason is due to the reliability of the Arliegh Burke class of DD's. Her nickname was the Already Broke.

  5. I hope your talking about the Tico VLS CG, not the 1985 first version of the Tico CG.

This is getting a bit detailed, but I believe this question merits it...

Not much would happen unless they closed within 20 nautical miles of each other.  The AEGIS system with the SPY-2 radar system would easily spot and shoot down all 8 harpoons each shot at each other at about 5 to 8 miles away.

Remember, the earth is not flat, so the curvature of the earth (line of sight), radar cross section (RCS), and sea state affects if something close or on the water is detected with radar or not.

That's a short distance given that these are SSM's, surface skimming missiles that gives less reaction time than high altitude anti-ship missiles, and because the harpoon has a low radar cross section.

If I was the Burke's skipper, I would try to fastly close on the Tico, get within detecting range of the Tico on active radar, and fire all eight Harpoons at once and time the ship attacking SAM's firing to come Time on Target on the Tico.

The Tico's RCS is much bigger than the burke's, and a firm radar lock is required to fire ship attacking SAM's at a ship.  So, the Burke should be able to lock on to the Tico first with Surface Search radar or via SPY-2 radar if conditions are right.

Yes, the Surface to Air Missiles on the Tico and Burke which are called Standard Missile 2, can attack ships.

The harpoon goes slower than the SAM's, so the SAM's have to be fired at a later time for them to meet all at once and overwelm the Tico's SAM's and point defense guns.  The number of SAM's fired at the Tico during this would need to be VERY large to ensure sufficient damage or destruction of the Tico.  I'd say at least 20 to 25 SAM's fired at it.

However, if that fails to produce any measurable damage, it would be best to try to retreat since if the Tico has functioning fire control, VLS SAM's working, and surface search radars and gets active surface search radar lock, its game over.

This would bring the situation into a mutual SAM slinging match, in which the Tico would probably defend against better than the Burke, given it has more SAM's loaded, more durability, and more point defense gun coverage than the Burke.

If it came down to naval gunfire, two functioning 5 inchers on Tico versus 1 functioning 5 incher on Burke, Tico wins.

You might wonder how I can give a good educated opinion at this, its because I regularly get to play in my modern naval warfare sim called "Janes Fleet Command" using the NWP mod that focuses on bringing the most realism possible in the sim.

From this I can create just about any modern naval scenario I can dream of and get a reasonably realistic outcome from the decisions I make.

I actually did do a similiar engagement to this question about 8 months ago against another player.  I won the engagement and it was the Burke that won it.
