I have a clot in left arm. Diagnosed last week after having IV in arm from surgery on August 20th. Was seen in ER last Sunday, said it was superficial phlebitis, but the vascular surgeon I went to see said looks more like deep vein. Started 4 adult aspirins a day but tonight I bled from v****a....as the whole reason for surgery was a D&E and I had not bled since surgery but looks like the aspirin made the blood thin.
Okay so I talked to the Vascular dr. tonight and he said to now lower the dose from 4 aspirin a day to just two a day.
I can't sleep. I lay here almost petrified.
How do you all keep going on without anxiety making your stone cold and fearful?!
I need help. I have two kids and have never gone through anything like this. I really am afraid. I never expected an IV to give me a clot.
Can anybody help me and tell me how you get through the day and night?
Thanks and God Bless.
My dr. was the chief surgeon at Overlake Hospital and now has his own private practice as a vascular doctor. the ER ultrasound dude said at first it was phlebitis and then I went to see vascular dr. and he said it was more like DVT.
He told me that strong anticogulants would be over kill! I have a feeling this is like boderline beetween phlebitis (superficial) and deep vein.
they did two ultrasounds on left arm. both times they said superficial; however this doctor said "no, more like deep vein".....almost as if he wasn't too sure and he has 20 years experience and I thought he might stick my booty in hospital too but no dice and then i said what about medicine and he said ONLY aspirin and to go about life. I go back in this coming Friday for another ultrasound but jesus this is scary.
