-What kind of sand should I get it?

-What size crickets do they eat? For a 3-6 inch.

-How often should I feed it? Do I just leave the crickets in there and when he/she eats them all just put more in?

-Does it need a heat lamp?

-What would be a good size gallon tank for however big the lizard is? Like 3-6inch, 10 gal, 6-8, 20 gal. How big tank for how many inches?

  1. 1-play sand....stay away from calci & repti sand they can discolor your lizard among other problems.

2-I'd say pinhead or medium size crickets, when larger you feed regular adult crickets. You also can give him meal worms, superworms, butter worms, wax worms. (go with appropiate size)

3-Give 10 every other day, since he is still a young lizard I would watch and see how many he eats. Young lizards can be chewed on by the cricket if there are too many in the tank at once.

4- Yes he needs a heat lamp the basking spot between 90-100 and the rest of the tank around 80 and night shouldn't drop below 65-70. If you are keeping in the bedroom and don't want light at night (they have red & blue night bulbs) you can go with a ceramic heat emitter (but get the open cage for it or it could overheat and explode)

5-  15 or 20 gallon at the min. He will be able to live in this size tank for his lifetime) If you go with a 10 gal then you run the possiblity of overheating and killing the lizard. I have had it happen, the tank cannot hold a hot and cool spot it's one or the other. You need for the lizard to be able to cool off and going from 100 to 95 doesn't cool him off.  Good luck.

  2. 1) normal play sand should work fine

    2) no crickets larger than its head

    3) I'm not sure, go onto the internet and find out, I think they need a low wattage bulb.

    4) Tricky question there :P ummm: I'd say 0.5 inches a gallon (a.k.a 5 inches for every 10 gallon) should be fine as a minimum I think

hope i helped and good luck,

    Adam

  3. Most of the above is correct, I however will add they they need a UVB light.  They're used to a lot of sun, and they will suffer from Metabolic Bone Disease if they don't get UVB lighting.  I love Cordylus lizards though, some of my favorite lizard species in that genus.

  4. 1. play sand

    2. extra small- small crickets.

    3. once every other day. no you should use tongs because if the crickets aren't eating they will eat your lizard.

    4. yes it does

    5. 10 gallon will be fine until hes about 8-10 inches then he can be moved into his adult enclosure of 20 gallons.
