The Eintracht Frankfurt boss has expressed his delight on winning the game against Bayer Leverkusen this past weekend.
The Eagles secured their first win of the Bundesliga this season as they downed a strong Bayer Leverkusen side this Saturday, August 25, to claim all three points. Stefan Kiessling opened the scoring for the away side at the half-hour
mark, but two goals from Stefan Aigner and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martin-Lanig-c24405 after the interval secured the win for the home side.
Veh admitted that the players’ hard work paid off at the end of the day. The manager expressed his happiness on the win and is looking forward to carry on with the good form in the remaining course of the season.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 boss praised the opposition’s attacking instinct and stated that Leverkusen were a constant threat to his defence. The tactician added that his back four played a vital role in the win and is looking forward
to the game against Hoffenheim next week.
“At the end of the day, I am delighted that we have been rewarded for a courageous performance. It was very difficult to defend today since Leverkusen were incredibly dangerous in attack. Sometimes they had six or seven men around
our penalty area and that also explains why we conceded one or two too many chances,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Veh stressed that his side could have been in danger if the opposition had scored in the opening moments of the second-half. He admitted that a 2-0 lead would have been impossible to recover from considering the chances Werkself
were creating.
“If they had gone 2-0 up early in the second half when they had the chance to, then we wouldn't have got back into the game. But our fans carried us and we continued to create chances,” he concluded.
Eintracht Frankfurt have a tough trip to Hoffenheim next week. Markus Babbel’s side have had a busy summer as they have recruited the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Wiese-c35108, Eren Derdiyok and Joselu. It will be an interesting battle between two teams
that have the potential to succeed.
