My wife and I are commissioning next June then going to BOLC II. Is there a way that we can go together? Also, after BOLC II, is OBC the first duty station or what? Basically I'm wanting to be with my wife through all the training. Thanks

  1. Your OBC is training for whatever branch you both receive. If you have the same branch, then you will be together...maybe not in the same class...but at least you will be on the same post. If you get different branches, you will have to go to your respective schools which will be at their posts.

  2. Contact your branch manager in regards to scheduling BOLC II with your wife.  OBC is not considered a duty station; its TDY, even if it extends past the TDY limit.  Shouldnt be any reason why you would not be able to attend training with your wife, but I would not recommend that myself.  I would suggest different classes that happen to be there at the same time.  This is because you'll have to take leadership positions within the class, and it would be a conflict of interest if you or your wife were in a position of leadership.  Other class members would accuse you of favoritism.

  3. Good luck, I hope so but nothing's set in stone...no matter what they say, realize they can separate you if they need you somewhere else.  Its always about whats best for them not you.  What you guys are doing is VERY risky.  As long as you go in knowing you guys can survive separation for a long period of time, years in some cases, then your good. I wouldn't even consider it, personally.

Please think about your marriage!!! Trust me, I'm married mil to mil and it's a challenge.
