  1. Join the Army then. You'll get the technology you want and if you want the intense training, there are many Special Forces type programs. Besides nobody willl stop you from working out anyway. If you didn't do well on the ASVAB, you might not qualify for some of the Army stuff, but the then the Marines will take you.

  2. well the technology is all the same.  If you are in to a hard core experience I would say the Marine Corp.

  3. If you're physically elite or have the capacity to become so, and are willing to be in a lot more dangerous but more...important, I guess, situations, then USMC would be a better path.

Having said that, there's nothing wrong with the army. However Marines are much stronger.

  4. Army has alot more things you can do to challenge yourself, Rangers, Snipers, SF, Airborne. If you dont want these extra challenges and just straight leg Infantry I say go Marines.

  5. since my brother is a marine i would say join the marines!

  6. You could actually do both. I have known several people that have switched branches. Enlist two years in the army if you don't like it or want to switch then go marines. Or vice versa. I believe both still offer two year enlistments.

  7. Really depends on your personality.  The big difference is the lifestyle.  Marines, from my experience, are much more disciplined and structured.  The Army is a little big more laid back.  They both do a kick-*** job of getting the job done though.

  8. marines

  9. neither one

why waste your mind with brute force if you can help the needy

prophesize with your pen and you'll always be part of the people army

  10. i think marines..cos the marines training can make you grunt,,

  11. So I have friends in both the Army & Marines, but I date a Marine, so I'm definately biased when I say "go Marines". But... I'll also give a few reasons why I'm saying "go Marines" and not "go Army":

The Marine Corps is considered the hardest military branch. You must have a high school diploma (or GED & 15 college credits). You have to pass meet their physical standards. You have to pass the ASVAB (though the Navy & Air Force require higher minimum entrance scores).

They offer MOS's in basically every field you can think of and many can easily transfer into civilian jobs.

Their boot camp is considered to be the hardest. And at 13 weeks it is the longest.

Also, a Marine can transfer to any other branch without going through the new branches basic but anyone who transfers into the Marines from another branch must complete the entire Marine boot camp.

And Marine Force Recon is the only group that is eligible to attend Every Special Force school offered, but no other Special Forces may attend Marine Force Recon school.

Marines are the "first in" in any conflict world-wide.

The Marines protect the President, fly the President around, have the "President's Own" band.

They guard every American embassy in the world.

  12. - The average Marine infantry unit is more specialized than an an Army Airborne unit.

    - The Marines physical standards are more strict that those of the Army.  As a matter of fact, the physical standards for female Marines is tougher than for Army males.

    - Lots more cross training in the Marines.

Melelis is correct on a lot of things other than the deployments.  The average peace time deployment in the Marines is 6 months (unless you get stationed overseas).  However, that 6 month deployment goes out the window when the world needs its 911 force.

  13. the army is deffinately the biggest branch. dont let anyone tell you different. the marines are the few and the proud but you have to keep this in mind. the army just sent out an order for 18 month deployments to iraq. all the marine i know go for about 6 months. the marine training is the hardest, but the army training is also very good. if you do join the marines and go through their basic and get out after your four years, you can join any other branch and you dont have to do their basic training which is pretty good..............research as much as you can and talk to some enlisted people. dont talk to recruiters until you finish your research because they will tell you anything. then after you sign on the dotted line.................you belong to them. choose wisely!

  14. No one can make that decision for you.

Me, I was in the Marines. Its what I wanted. That was my BEST Path.

  15. Army, then again I say this because I am Army. The choice is yours though, the Army has good training also don't let Marines tell you it's so much more challenging, I mean it is but it's not a landslide. I could make it through any training out there without a doubt. Everything is a challenge to see if you have the will to over come it.
