i asked this question earlier and forgot a few things........

first is that I'm wondering which one would be better for me... i like brotherhood and the fact that you watch out for each other... i know that marine is tougher just asking which one would you choose?

i wouldn't mind being deployed often and that's bring me to another question how often do army get deployed places?

  1. For one thing, I can honestly say that the Marine Corps has a tighter bond in brotherhood than the Army.  I've been cross-trained by the Army and was extremely disappointed in the 'individualism' that the soldiers portrayed.  Which is understandable, the Army has to deal with thousands of their troops while the Marine Corps only has hundreds-which has no other choice but to depend on the 'few, the proud'.

Deployment is only determined on what unit is next to go in the rotation.  They rotate units every year so, it depends on what unit you will be attached to.  However, the Marine Corps are the only expeditionary force in the US, so expect a lot more deployments!

NOTE: Panther  (who answered also)  is an idiot, I believe that only military personnel should only answer military-related questions.  Obviously he never joined or never been in combat.

When has a soldier or Marine 'enjoyed' killing people.  We don't go on deployment knowning that we get to fire a few rounds at the enemy, we go there knowing that we are going to be 'shot at' by the enemy.  We are the ones being 'targeted', not them!

  2. If you like brotherhood, you should definetly go marines. Semper Fi= Always faithful. Faithful to the corps & your country. The Marines are like a family. I would choose Marines, no doubt. They Army & Marines get deployed pretty much the same amount, but the Marines usually have a shorter deploy time compared to the Army.

Once a marine, always a marine!

  3. you wouldnt mind being deployed often ?

so you wouldnt mind killing a few people by the way ?

thats uncool man. but i understand you want some action..

but how about signing up for the police circus ? Atleast you can brake down some doors and arrest people.. and point weapons in people faces while you scream at them to get the f... down. You may even have to shoot your gun sometimes.  and the chances of surviving increase significantly, instead of being deployed to a battlefield in a hail of fire time after time.

if your not up for the circus then you could become a bounty hunter. i hear thats a real adrenaline business. and you might like it there.

but dude the army.. or the marines ? thats where you lose my respect.

    anyway stay sharp.

  4. GO Marine and head straight for grunt. that is what it is all about. as for this panther kid ima say this. you need to go move outta this country until you appreciate it. yea im not gonna lie i joined the marines i leave in a few days for basic and hope to hit some terrorists. but wouldn't you when someone has attacked and hates such a great country. get over yourself and grow up. this is the real world haven't you learned the government will own you in life??

  5. Go Marine. Choose 0311. Tougher, more pride in service and uniform, and better comradarie. Im giving a biased answer being a Marine Combat Veteran but seeing the Army in action in Iraq was not the greatest thing in the world to see. Such as cutting missions short to get back to the chow hall in time to get warm food instead of MRE's. Army does 15 month deployments, Marines do 6-7 month deployments
