Army passes and leave

my husband has accrued many days for leave. however, he has come home many weekends and not reported it, so this is why he has so much time. he was given block leave (which was for soldiers who had been deployed...my husband has never deployed in 2.5 yrs), but because he had time they let him take a week. how much trouble can he get into if they are made aware of this?

  1. none, i wouldant worry about it at all. weekends your usually free to go wherever you want, depending on your units milage restrictions. My units is i cant go 50 miles from base without a milage pass. however they are pretty lenient as long as someone knows where you are going. As far as block leave, if he has a signed leave form he is good. I wouldant worry about it, everything sounds good to me.

  2. for a mileage pass, you dont have your leave time taken. for most bases the mileage limit is 250 (over that you have to have written permission to travel) ....

my question is.... if you are married, why dont you live with him?

  3. Coming home on weekends isn't leave.   That's his time, unless he has duty of some kind.  No problem.

If he got a block of leave and wasn't entitled to it,  they'll take it off his balance.  If they think he scammed to get it, he might face an Article 15, which could result in a fine or reduction in rank or both.

  4. He is supposed to take a pass if they go over the radius designated.

I wouldn't worry about it, but he needs to stop going.

If he were to get in an accident and (heaven forbid) die, then because he was somewhere he wasn't supposed to be, SGLI can refuse to pay.

Also he can get charged with AWOL if he should get caught.

He can get permission, without taking a pass or leave to go visit, usually can be done on the squad level.

  5. Um..none. If he had a signed leave form during block leave, then he is ok.

  6. Military is not a five day a week job, but a lot of time you get the weekends off....does not count as leave.

when i was at fort sill..............we just had the weekends w/o a pass unless the company had something or i was assigned guard duty
