Hello I am in the military and I want to know how do I check to find out how much points I have in order for me to get E5?

Is it possible that I can check online or do I have to talk to my supervisor about my scores. I need to know this so that I can know how much more points I need.

Tank you and have a Great Day.

  1. I am going to assume, based on the wording of the question, that you have not been to the promotion board. If you would like to find out how many points you "would" have if you went to the board, you can go to the site I listed below. basically your promotion points are a compilation of a few different categories. Weapons (50 points), PT (50 Points), Board appearance (150 points), commanders points (150 points), civilian education (100 points), awards (100 points), and military education (200 points). There are corresponding point values for every amount you have in each category. If you go to the site below and put in your info it will generate your points for you, best of luck getting those points up there!

  2. What rank are you?  If you are an E-4 right now you will get put on the automatic promotion list at four years with 350 points.  You can check your points and add more at the HRC web page below using your AKO login but you won't get credit for more than 350 points until you pass a promotion board.

  3. Talk to your NCOIC and in turn, You will need an appointment to see the personnel clerk.

  4. Talk to your training room, S1, or just pickup the Army Times.

  5. Hopefully you have been to the promotion board...don't get offended, you would be suprised.  You need to talk to your S1 about your points.  You can look on your ERB, but that may not be updated.  When you went to the board you should of got a copy of your 3355 and it tells you how many points you have.  If you have added points since then you are suppose to get another copy.  Look on your ERB or ask your S1 Promotion clerk

  6. Have you been recommend for promotion and been to the promotion board and recommended by the board for promotion?

If so, I find it hard to believe you do not know your points already.

  7. Check your erb. You should always have that updated. If it isn't then you can check with the 1 shop. or look up army promotion points for the month and year you are looking for and you can check the army times. Always near the begining of the month. Don't always check with your sergeant first with that. We don't always have a lot of time to burn to check on something you might not be eligible for
