Is there an army regulation to how much a soldier can eat at a mess hall? Someone told me there was. Sometimes I don't get enought to eat during lunch///dinner and if i go up to get seconds they deny me sometimes.

  1. not really a regulation, but having a dfac ncoic as m neighbor, i was so tempted to call him, here's what he said...

"the army, like all the other branches gives out portions in accordance with the health pyramid. the reason is so we can be healthier, leaner, more productive adults. and besides with the buffet lines you get in most bases, why would you even want seconds?"

  2. I know in the Marines they are not supposed to refuse you for seconds or whatever but it might be different for the army!

  3. You ahve to wait till the end because they have to provide for LODDI DOTTI EVERYBODY!!

  4. If you really want to go back for seconds in Army mess hall you are asking for it big time.

  5. As I remember in basic training they only allowed you one run through the chow line but when you got to your regular outfit you could eat all you wanted, remember the Army has a drive on on over weight Solders.

  6. Soldiers are given rations which is just a certain amount of food given at a particular meal.   If you want seconds go eat towards the end of the meal hours.  Cooks don't want to throw away all that food and I don't blame them.  So when it is close to closing you are more likely to get more to eat.
