Hamburg Sporting Director Frank Arnesen has hailed the impact of Thorsten Fink on the side since he arrived in October this year.
Thorsten Fink has been sensational since his arrival in the Bundesliga this season from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Basel-c39079. The manager has guided the club out of the relegation zone and the club now stands in 13th place with 19 points. The side
was struggling at the bottom of the table when former manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Oenning was sacked.
Arnesen claimed that Fink has made an instant impact since his hiring in October and his brilliant tactics have earned the side a respectable place on the standings table as they go into the winter break.
The chief stated that when a side is on an unbeaten run of nine games, it is not only on luck. The club is now unbeaten in nine games in the Bundesliga and Arnesen is extremely satisfied with the team’s displays in the last two
months. He is expecting a similar performance in the second-half of the campaign so that Hamburg end in the top-half of table.
“If we are unbeaten in nine games, then that is not just down to chance. I am very satisfied with our football and tactically we have taken a big step forward. So I'm very optimistic about the second half of the season,” he was
quoted as saying.
The former Sporting Director of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 insisted that he has no plans to sign any player in the January transfer window as the squad is complete. He refused to comment on the club’s aspirations for Europe as he wants to focus on
the league currently. He wants the displays to continue and aims for a successful last six months of the campaign.
“No, not for me. I think we have a very good squad. That's too far away for us. But for now we are just looking upwards,” he concluded.
Hamburg have a tough task in the Bundesliga next time around as they face champions Borussia Dortmund at home when they return from the winter break. A win for the side could take them to the top-ten in the table and chances in
Europe could also be a possibility as there are still 21 games to be played.
