Arnold Schwarzenegger said that Tim Russert promised . . . .?

. . . . that if Arnold won the election to be Governor of California, that Tim would "make it happen," that is, that the Constitution of the US would be changed so that Arnold, who is not a natural born US citizen, could become President.

Do you think Arnold is lying? Does anyone remember Russert saying this? Did Russert make a promise he certainly now can never keep?

I heard Arnold say this to Tom Brokaw yesterday on "Meet the Press."

  1. Our Constitution BETTER NOT BE CHANGED, especially in concerns to the background of our Presidential nominees.  What better way than to DESTROY THIS NATION if some rogue, sleeper were to get into office?

  2. Tim Russert was a influential man but changing the constitution for one person would never pass Congress or the Senate.

I would not want a person who is not a natural citizen to be President myself-- and frankly would not vote for Swartzenegger anyway.

  3. I'm beginning to question Arnolds sanity.

  4. If he said that, he was joking. Although Tim and Maria were close friends...Tim clearly knew he had zero authority to 'make it happen' for real.

  5. perhaps he was joking?
