What about non-famous people who are in magizine ads and billboards? What do they bring in?

Not as much as you might think. Unless you are a famous model or celebrity, you will generally be paid a flat modeling fee - usually a few hundred dollars, depending on how large of a marketing area the billboard will be used in or how large of circulation the magazine has.

If you considering this line of work, I strongly encourage you to hire an agent. Yes, you will have to pay them a percentage of your earnings, but an agent will be able to negotiate for more money on your behalf and will market your services to advertising agencies, photographers and others who might have need of them.
