  1. It would depend on whether or not the jeweler has to send it out to a corporate office to resize it or if they have someone on-site all the time to resize.

Also, most places will resize a ring free but will charge you more if you need it sized up or down more than a size or two.  With a larger jewelry store, you can often negotiate with them if they try to charge you.  (I know from experience and never pay for this service since we always buy from the same jeweler!)

  2. It takes a few days to a week. Should be free if you purchase an expensive ring there.

  3. good question.. id like to know too  :)

  4. I had one of my rings sized at a little jewelry place in the mall they charged around $40 and did it within a couple of hours.  I couldn't let someone keep my family heirloom ring for a week or 2.

  5. The cost depends on whether or not you got the ring at the jeweler's where you're having it resized, as well as the difficulty involved (like if you have stones set in the band and the type of metal). I don't know where some people have been taking their rings to be resized, because every major jewelry chain I've ever heard of AND the locally owned jeweler in my town can get a ring resized in 1-2 days.

  6. make sure you didn't get a warranty because if you did it is free.  As for how long it takes it really depends on the jeweler and how busy he is if he is on vacation etc..  I think mine only took a week or two and it was free because we got the warranty.  Which is great because I have lost a lot of diamonds.

EDIT: They say they will call if it is done early-There is only one jeweler where we got our rings and I guess he is lazy because it usually takes a week--except last time I took it to get some diamonds put in that fell out and that took longer because he was on vacation and they only have one.

  7. It cost about 35$

    Takes about 1-2 weeks

  8. Price will depend on the type of metal and type of setting.

Also different jewelers will have difference prices due to labor ect.

  9. Here in town a jeweler can do it in about a day. They charge about $15 per size difference. This is for gold. However if you just bought it the place will usually do it for free.
