Rank the substances from the compound with the lowest [H3O+] to the compound with the highest one.

HClO4

Na2O

NaCLO4

NaOCl

Zn(NO3)2

I've learned HClO4 is perchloric acid and figured it has a pH=1 and the substances starting w/ Na are probably salts but I'm not sure how to approach this problem. Any guidance would be appreciated.

  1. HClO4 yes , a strong acid  pH =1

Na2O  makes NaOH in water  pH = 13

    NaCLO4 a salt of a strong acid & a strong base, pH = 7

NaOCl a salt of the weak acid HClO,   moderately basic

Zn(NO3)2  a salt of the weak base Zn(OH)2  , moderately acidic

your answers are from most basic to most acidic:

    Na2O, NaOCl, NaClO4, Zn(NO3)2, HClO4
