Question:

Arrested and booked?

I've caught myself thinking of an old friend recently, and decided to search for him online (kinda stalkery, I know, but there was no other way I could find him..). Google turned up nothing, but yahoo had one result that possibly matched him. The top result was someone with his same name, same age at the time, and a location where I know he has family.. and this person was booked last May for aggravated battery and disturbing the peace =/ So. I don't know what this means. It just makes me really nervous when I try to read about these crimes.. the sentences seem to very greatly.. does anyone know how I would go about actually finding out if this is even the same person (or just someone with details that match up disturbingly well)? What does it mean to be "booked"? The site that said this didn't give more information, it was an online newspaper's 'Police Reports' section.. and I've never met any of his family and it just seems like it would be really weird to track them down and ask them. Does anyone have an idea of what the consequences could be of being convicted of these crimes? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Aggravated battery and disturbing the peace could be something such as being far too loud and carrying on in public. Being booked means he was actually arrested for the charges.

Depending on what constituted the aggravated portion of the battery, it is usually a misdemeanor. Same with the disturbing the peace. If this is a first time offense, the standard would be a fine and a short probation.

As far as whether this is your old friend or not, I cant really help with any true advice.

One thing you can also try is using "ZABASEARCH.COM". This is a totally free sight that compiles various public utility sites ( phones, tax bases, voting registration). Type in all the info you have and watch what comes up. A very handy site for location people you lost track of.

Best of luck and I hope this is useful to you
