Question:

Arrested for disorderly conduct and interferring with an investigation?

there was a fender bender on the city. A car in the right lane failed to notice that the car in front of him had stopped and

he ran into the back of the car. I was a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk past the fender bender. A police officer

had pulled up behind the accident and was walking toward the accident. As he approached me he walked straight down the middle

of the sidewalk and I had to get out of this way to let him pass.

I turned around and said, hey ***hole, do you own the sidewalk?

He then proceeded to handcuff me and subseqently arrest me

as I indicated in the subject line. I haven't yet been to my court date.

What do you think of this arrest? As far as I have been able to discern, the police officer does not own the sidewalk and has no business trying to act intimidating.

  1. their game is intimidation.  haha i would said that and ran.  he prolly would have been more concerned with the accident then chasing u.  but he could have caught u then evading a police officer is a more serious offense.  anyway RUN FAST

  2. Hearing one side of the story is hard to make a judgement. If I see a cop coming in my direction to get to an accident I move out of the way. Its like if a cop is trying to get somewhere and has his sirens on. The fact you also used profanity in public in reference to the cop was over the top on your part. If you believed what you believed you should have kept that statement in your head and just continued on your way.

  3. You saw the accident and the Policeman, you knew he was enroute to investigate, and you intentionally interfered with him.  That's what we call Interfering with an Investigation.

Disorderly Conduct includes the use of vulgar, or profane language in public.

Have fun paying that ticket!  LOL!!!!!

  4. I think your actions were 1. Stupid and 2. Violated disorderly conduct rules. Whether he owns the sidewalk is irrelevant. Learn from this and move on.

  5. My 30+ years of experience as a police officer tells me that someway, somehow, you're not telling the whole story.

You did commit 'disorderly conduct' by using profane or obscene language.

You're not a real bright boy, are you??
