Which part of the Arrhenius equation contains a term which measures the number of molecules that have the correct orientation for reaction?

A) e-Ea/RT

B) activation energy

C) frequency factor

  1. The frequency factor is the "A" in front of the equation.  This factor takes into consideration the orientational requirements of the reaction which are strongly dependent on steric effects.  it also includes the number of collisions per second (hence, "frequency") which does not change very much over small temperature ranges.
