The iconic Italian has expressed his disappointment in the mentality adopted by the Italian clubs; however he did understand
the rationale behind their decisions.
The Italian legend has been credited with revolutionising football played throughout the world and his Milan team of the 80’s is still used as
a reference point for many clubs, in Italy and outside too. Given his pedigree and experience in the game of football, his thoughts are given due credence.

This time the former Italian national team head coach was of the opinion that the youth is being wasted by the Italian clubs. His remarks come
following the emergence of Inter youth star, Samuele Longo, who has garnered a lot of attention with his performances in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Primavera team, which earned him a call to the first team in the final game of the Serie A season.
Despite being at the tender age of 20, Sacchi believes that he should have been part of the Inter first team before this, which would have propelled
his growth in football. He recalled his experience at Real Madrid and gave a glimpse of the difference in the mentality of the two countries. He went on to state:
“If we were in another country, Longo would be playing first team football by now. When I was technical director at Real Madrid, in the field
we had six Ballon d’Or winners. Yet, the crowd grumbled because the club were not playing enough Spaniards and especially those from the youth academy.”
Comparing this stance with that of Italy, he said that the Italians were more impatient and no sporting plan ever went through due to the increasing
pressure for immediate short-term results. He further commented:
“In http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, it is always the same story and the demand is on results, on the immediate - as a director or Coach you know that to lose two games
you are liable, would you risk it?”
This dilemma put immense pressure on the Italian clubs to cave in to the demands of the fans, and not look for any concrete long-term plans. Italian
fans are more passionate and put greater preference on the immediate results.
