Arrigo Sacchi recommended Cavani to A.C Milan and all-praise for Napoli: Serie A news
Former A.C Milan manager, Arrigo Sacchi, has revealed that he once recommended the former Rossoneri manager, Carlo Ancelotti, to sign Uruguayan striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955.
While talking to the reporters Sacchi said, “I recommended Cavani to Ancelotti, he and [Marek] Hamsik have extraordinary elements.”
Sacchi, who managed Milan in two spells, has high hopes of Napoli and is impressed with their start to the season. The Azzurri have had a great start to the 2011/12 campaign and have beaten A.C Milan and Inter Milan comprehensively
in their opening five games. The Partenopei side is placed third in the league table, only one point behind leaders, Juventus.
The 65-year-old praised Walter Mazzarri for identifying the talent and filling his squad with some match-winning players. However, the former Italian national team manager believes that nothing would have been done without the
support of the club and a huge credit goes to Club President, Aurelio De Laurentiis as well.
“[Walter] Mazzarri was good to surround himself with capable and reliable people and the fact is that he is complemented by the club getting important players.”
The former Atletico Madrid manager believes that Napoli’s performances against Milan, Inter and Manchester City have proved that they have become a real force in world football and can challenge for trophies. He believes that the
team has learnt to overcome the mental barrier while playing against the bigger teams and they will continue to challenge for trophies unless they suffer injuries.
“The great performances against Manchester City, Milan and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 have shown that Napoli is a great team that, although incomplete in some aspects, remains highly competitive. The Azzurri need only fear a loss of motivation and
physical condition.”
Sacchi believes that return to UEFA Champions League will do a lot of good to not only the team performances but it will also introduce them to the world as footballing giants. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 returned to Champions League football after
a long absence of 21 years and has made an instant impact in the competition.
