Arron Afflalo, O.J. Mayo - Free agents Utah Jazz should target - NBA Feature (Part-4)
Arron Afflalo:
The Denver Nuggets’ shooting guard is a restricted free agent this offseason but seeing his past season’s performance, the Nuggets would likely to trade him. If this trade happens, the Utah Jazz must sign him for their upcoming
season. Though, the Nuggets do not want him for the future seasons but the Jazz need some quick and talented players to boost its winning record in the future seasons.
Playing with the Nuggets, he averaged 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in the regular season. He played total 69 regular and 9 post season’s games. Having four years of experience, he has still many years ahead
in the league.
On the other hand, the Jazz’s management is also doing pretty hard-work and making certain strategies for the next season. They need some potential players to carry forward its offence. Since his arrival in the league, Afflalo
has played for two different teams. He started his career in 2007 for the Detroit Pistons and later joined the Denver Nuggets in2009.
O.J. Mayo:
O.J. Mayo is not a free agent this offseason but his trade possibilities can land him into the Utah Jazz’s roster. Last season too, the Memphis Grizzlies guard was about to go into the Pacers roster but somehow it did not happen.
But seeing the last season’s poor performance, the Grizzlies management is now seriously thinking to trade him.
Though, he might not that productive for the Grizzlies in the upcoming season but the Utah Jazz would be much interested to include him for the upcoming season.
Last season, Mayo averaged 11.3 points per game after playing total 71regular season’s game. Although, the Grizzlies had outstanding run in 2010-2011 but it was due to some other players in their team that they produced some tremendous
performances. Zach Randolph played brilliantly and led his team to the post season. Not only in the post season, Grizzlies’ brilliant roster also led their team to the conference finals. But O.J Mayo’s performance remained with full of disappointment. He could
not show any extraordinary performances and lost plenty of scoring chances.
Shannon Brown:
Shannon Brown is an unrestricted free agent this offseason. He last played for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2010-2011 season with an average of 8.7 points per game in the regular season. His free agency is one of the most priced free
agencies. Brown, who is young and athletic, would be on every team’s favourite list.
Where many other NBA teams are trying hard to include him, the Utah Jazz is also pursuing his free agency in this offseason. Though, nothing official from the Jazz’s management has come out in the media but some recent reports
have showed the Jazz’s interest in Shannon Brown’s free agency.
Brown, who has relatively good experience in the league, has also played for three other teams in the league. After drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2006, Brown went on to play for the Chicago Bulls in 2008. He later joined
the Charlotte Bobcats in 2008-2009 and eventually made his way into the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009-2010. Shannon Brown has also won two NBA championships with the Lakers.
