Arsalan Naqvi ousts Uddin Saif in qualifying round at Syed Modi International India GPG 2012
India’s talented player Arsalan Naqvi found a perfect start in the Men’s Singles qualifying round when he defeated Bangladesh’s Uddin Saif at the Syed Modi International India GPG 2012 in India, on Tuesday, December 18.
The impressive Arsalan, who has been working extremely hard for the last couple of years to get elevation in his skills, played with impressive speed and precision and managed to end up the contest in just 19 minutes.
Local shuttler was in superb form in the arena as he stayed in complete control of rallies and managed to end up the contest in straight games with a wonderful margin on the board.
On the other hand, Uddin tried to play competitive badminton and he also created trouble for his local opponent in the second game but failed to dictate the pace when it mattered and lost the match without making his presence strongly felt.
In the opening set, the Indian shuttler proved his mettle in the arena by playing attacking and positive badminton and took a reasonable lead on the score board.
The phenomenal variations in Arsalan’s shots helped him to maintain his domination against his challenger on court.
Arsalan did not show any sign of confusion as he remained in complete command of rallies until the one-minute interval.
The contest progressed in the similar fashion after the one-minute break as Arsalan did not lose his control in the arena.
Arsalan continued employing powerful smashes in targeted areas and managed to bag the first set with a comfortable score of 21-10.
Uddin increased his speed to play smart badminton in the first half of second game and stayed close to his challenger.
However, the powerful smashes and net killings kept Arsalan slightly ahead of his Bangladeshi opponent until the end of first half in second set.
Uddin could not show resistance in the second game of this contest as his Indian rival played better game and secured the set with a sound 21-18 score on the board.
The impressive Arsalan wrapped up victory in this qualifying round contest in straight games with a wonderful margin of 21-10 and 21-18.
