Wilshere looked fatigued after 70 minutes, but that is to be expected after such a long time out on the sidelines following his ankle injury last season. The midfielder looks set to be an important and influential figure for the club, and remains one of
the league’s most highly rated midfielders.
Arsenal kept the ball well, and frustrated Tottenham with their incisive and fluid passing. Wilshere and Cazorla twisted and turned past http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-Huddlestone-c35227 and Sandro, while Arteta stayed deep protecting the back-four and distributing the ball well without
leaving his position. The Spaniard was absolutely solid, and shielded the back-four really well. Arteta’s long balls from the centre caused a lot of problems for the Tottenham midfield and defence. His discipline and leadership abilities remain a major asset
for the side.
The strongest front three for Arsenal this season has to be a combination of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755 out injured, Arsenal have looked more clinical and less wasteful. The strengths of all three players really give Arsenal
a huge advantage at the front.
Walcott’s pace, Giroud’s physical strength and aerial threat along with Podolski’s directness and long-range shooting ability have the potential of being the league’s best three-pronged attack. However, they are not there yet, and there is still much work
to be done.
Walcott needs to perform like this on a more consistent basis, and Giroud needs to average a goal per game if he really wants to help fill the void left by Robin Van Persie’s departure. Having netted 4 goals in the last 6 Premier League appearances, the
Frenchman looks like he is finally settling in. Podolski also showed no signs of the poor showing against Manchester United earlier this month, and his work-rate was once again on display.
Podolski has still not displayed his long range shooting ability to full effect so far, but he has become an integral part of this Arsenal side, and looks like a very good buy. His free-kick against Southampton at the start of the season was just a glimpse
of what the German is capable of, but his match fitness leaves a little to be desired. Perhaps some competition and back-up on the left flank will do both the player and the team some good.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Oxlade-Chamberlain was brought on in the last 20 minutes to replace Giroud, and the Englishman gave Arsenal a different edge. Walcott moved to the central striker position, and Chamberlain took the right flank. His directness, dribbling ability and
pace left http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s final goal of the night. He truly offers Arsenal with depth and a spark that Wenger revels in.
Though many will argue that the result would have been different had Adebayor not seen a red card. Spurs did control the beginning of the game, and looked threatening on the counter, but Arsenal have had the upper hand on them in previous meetings, and had
a much better midfield on paper.
If Arsenal can keep these players fit, and hopefully sign appropriate back up in the winter transfer window, they will do well this season. The title still remains out of sight, but with 26 games to go and 9 points separating them from league leaders Manchester
City coupled with the intense competition for places in the top half of the league table, you never know what this Premier League season may hold.
