Arsenal Captain Cesc Fabregas back to the Catalans?
Reports suggest that Arsenal FC and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas has come to an agreement on private terms with Spanish champions Barcelona.
The Catalans claim that the Spain international agreed with his bond should he leave the Gunners for the former European winners. It's been claimed that the 23-year-old will sign a five-year contract and will earn upto 7 million euros per each season.
Cesc Fabregas has been deeply linked with a transfer to his boyhood club in the summer transfer window, with Barcelona previously going forward with a £30 million bid declined by the Gunners.
Conversely, Fabregas' current north London club Arsenal has so far declined to agree on the transfer cost with Catalan giants. Arsenals manager, Arsene Wenger is set to hold talks with the Spanish club this week and any decision on Fabregas’ future will be taken subsequent to that. The north Londoners are adamant that they will not let their young and highly skilled skipper be sold for less than £50 million. Manager, Arsene Wenger is aiming to discuss the future of his star midfielder before the Premier League season begins in August.
Fabregas, who won the World Cup with Spain this summer, is scheduled to return to his club in the coming week, notably prior to his intended August 9th arrival. Taking the situation into his hands, Wenger is eager to benefit and hold talks with Fabregas about his potential future before Barcelona or any other club come running to fill up his ears.
With so many seasons gone by, Arsene Wenger is surely frustrated and is looking to put an end to Arsenal’s trophy drought this season, with the home Premier League and European Champions League being the main and biggest goals. Wenger knows that having Cesc Fabregas gives Arsenals huge chances of triumphing in the league or any championship this season.
Since back in 2005, when Arsenal beat Manchester United on penalty shootouts in the F.A Cup, the Londoners have failed to grab any sort of silverware. From the Barcelona camp, coach Pep Guardiola has admitted that Arsenal stay dreadfully in the driving seat over the much anticipated resolution on Cesc Fabregas' transfer to the Spanish club champions this summer.
The La Liga winning manager also said that he thinks bringing in Fabregas will mean giving out a lot of transfer money, and if Arsenal don't want to bargain, then it will be almost impossible for Fabregas to join Barca. Fabregas’ national team partner and Barcelona striker David Villa is also anxious to see his Spain team-mate unite him at Camp Nou this summer.
The subject appears far from closed, though wide open at the same time, with Villa now adding up his influence to the choir influencing Fabregas to move back to Spain. Villa said that it would be great to include Fabregas in the squad and a player of his ability will not only increase the teams ability but his presence will be perfect for all the forwards.
He also emphasised on the fact that Fabregas’ presence will help Xavi and Iniesta in the centre forward while, David Villa, himself will be able to score more goals with him on his side.
