Arsenal FC rejected by Stade Rennais for the sale of Yann M’Vila – Ligue 1 news
English Premier League giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 FC have failed in their attempt to bring Stade Rennais star Yann M’Vila to the Emirates as manager Arsene Wenger looks to bring in an experienced midfielder to his squad.
Following a 2-0 drubbing at home to Liverpool this Saturday, Wenger must have realised that his side is not good enough and experienced enough to rub shoulders with the likes of Manchester United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 who are in the
process of rebuilding.
Furthermore, Arsene Wenger has already lost Cesc Fabregas to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 to cash-laden Manchester City who are willing to meet Nasri’s high-wage
demands.
In the game against Liverpool, young midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong showed his wealth of talent but his naive sending off has sent a clear signal to the club’s direction that the club is in dire need of an experienced midfielder who can bring some sanity to
the midfield.
Reports in French and English media now suggest that Arsenal did contact Stade Rennais in a bid to sign talented defensive midfielder Yann M’Vila. However, Stade Rennais plainly refused to sell their prized asset to the desperate English outfit.
The 21-year-old has also attracted interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid but the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international declined the Spanish side’s offer as he intends to play regular football in the 2011/2012 campaign.
L’Equipe suggests that Arsenal launched a bid of around 17 million Euros for the midfielder which the club manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pierre-c29989 Dreossi rejected.
While talking to the media, Dreossi said, “Yann has extended his contract with us. He started the season with us and will end it with us. This I’m saying loud and clear.” Though a transfer might take place for M’Vila, it is clear that the youngster is also
reluctant to move to a new challenge this summer as he is eying a place Laurent Blanc’s side that is getting closer and closer to qualifying for the 2012 European Championships.
