Arsenal: Latest News
Middlesbrough talented keeper, Jason Steele has been reported to be linked with a £4m move to Barclays Premier Leagues new leaders, Arsenal. However, Middlesbrough chief executive Keith Lamb has rejected all reports and said that the 20-year-old is not for
sale at any price. Lamb insisted: "The story is complete nonsense. We have no intention of selling Jason for £4m or any other fee. He is a massive part of the future of this football club, so the idea of selling him is not on our agenda."
Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray added: "I think it's vitally important that we don't sell our assets, of which Jason is certainly one. We don't need to sell our young players. They can get us back in the Premier League if we give them time to fulfil their
potential here.”
Moreover, Arsenal’s young skippers, Cesc Fabregas is hoping to return to full fitness for the Gunners’ next match against Manchester United next on 13th December.
Cesc Fabregas has recently been sidelined with a hamstring injury which he suffered while playing a Champions League fixture against Sporting Braga last month.
However, the midfielder is optimistic that he will be a part of Arsenal when they make a trip to Old Trafford for the title deciding fixture.
The Spanish international said: "I'm happy to say everything is going according to plan with my rehabilitation. My hamstrings are feeling good, and my body feels good and rested. We've tried some new treatments and hopefully they can make a difference.
The Manchester United game is the target, so hopefully we can make it happen.”
Arsenal are currently the Barclays Premier League leaders which has happened for the first time since the start of this season. Arsenal entered the match against Fulham on the back of two consecutive defeats and have not lost three consecutive home games
in the last thirty four years. Arsenal defeated Fulham at Emirates by two goals to one thanks to Samir Nasri’s two sensational strikes which earned the Gunners all three points along with a chance to top the table.
Before last weekend, Arsenal was on the third spot, sharing equal points with Chelsea and two points less than Manchester United. However, Manchester United’s last match against Blackpool was postponed due to severe conditions and Chelsea drew at home against
Everton, which saw Arsenal toping the table with 32 points although Manchester United have one game in hand.
Arsenal will welcome Belgrade Partizan for the last and sixth round of the UEFA Champions League group stage. Arsenal are now in a state of ‘do or die’ as they must have to win the match against Partizan in order to qualify for the Knock-out stage of Champions
League.
Arsenal's next Premier League match is against their title rivals and the only unbeaten team of Barclays Premier League, Manchester United. This match is also considered as ‘the title decider’ match, as Barclays Premier League current two top teams go head
to head to solidify their place at the top of the table.
Historically, Arsenal has not defeated Manchester United in their last six visits to Old Trafford in the past 4 seasons. However, the Gunners are enjoying their best form in recent history; Arsenal have played eight away matches so far in the Premier League
and have won five of them along with 2 draws and a loss against Chelsea.
Moreover, Arsenal's recent away form has been extraordinary and they will enter the match against Manchester United on the stroke of four away wins and would look to continue their impressive away form.
