Arsenal News: Arsene Wenger confident of Premier League title success
Arsenal FC manager has expressed his optimism on winning the English Premier League title this year.
Wenger’s comments maybe intended to boost the morale of his side, who were left downhearted after the draw against Wigan Athletic on Wednesday night.
Arsenal were hoping to register a vital away victory at the DW Stadium as they were leading by 2-1 in the match. However, much to the despair of Gooners, Sebastian Squillaci headed in his own net to bring the scores level near the full-time whistle.
The Frenchman, however, is expecting his team to show mental strength and bounce back from the unfavourable result in midweek.
Wenger said, “It is Arsenal's title to win. We have to go on a run and be consistent. The only thing we have learnt from this first six months is that the team who will be the most consistent, with great emotional stamina and resolve will win it.”
Arsenal players will be spurred on by their memorable victory against defending champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC, in which they beat their city-rivals by a convincing 3-1 score line.
In the past seasons, Gunners have mostly been unable to put their best performance on the pitch against top-sides. This has been the reason why Arsenal come up short of winning the league title, at the end of the season.
The north-Londoners haven’t been crowned the English champions since 2003/2004, a season where they had remained unbeaten in the 38 games played.
Since that title winning season, Arsenal’s 1st team has gone throrugh a major overhaul. The experienced campaigners such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380

The 61-year-old added, “It could be the league of the mentally strong. It is a league with a lot of ups and downs and the teams who deal the best with that will certainly win it. We have always been strong mentally, but we have not been as mature as we are
now. I think we have courage, intelligence and talent in the squad. To be capable of putting these three ingredients together in every single game will be decisive.”
