Arsenal – Probable starting line-up for the season 2011/2012 (Part 2)
The centre back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Laurent-Koscielny-c21742 and Sebastian Squillaci. Even though Squillaci appeared in the first team
for a long time, Koscielny and Djourou later managed to make a space for themselves in the first team.
Barcary Sagna was the first choice right back but Emmanuel Eboue took the right back position whenever Sagna was unavailable due to injury or international duty. The left back Gael Clichy played for most of the season but whenever he couldn’t perform for
Arsenal, Kieren Gibbs made way into the first team.
The only thing positive about the Arsenal team throughout the 2010/2011 season was their midfield. Arsene Wenger knew that he had the best of midfielders and he explored the talented English star http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804 and Aaron
Ramsey settled well into the midfield whenever they were not injured.
Sami Nasri also featured in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 replaced Arshavin
and Nasri moved to the left flank while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Chamakh-c24294 was the only centre forward available to Arsene Wenger for the first half of the season.
It was the first choice striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 who made his space in the Arsenal first team and actually managed to shine throughout January. His goal scoring tally per match was simply outstanding and he really helped Arsenal catch up with the top of
the table giants – Manchester United.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicklas-Bendtner-c27726 was also given first team opportunities but he wasn’t really impressive because he never really got to play in his favourite centre forward position. He was either played on the right or the left flank while Robin Van Persie stayed in charge
in the striker role.
Cesc Fabregas could not play throughout the season just like Alex Song and despite these two were unavailable; Arsenal coped up really well with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Ramsey-c3065 played in the play-making role
of Cesc Fabregas.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 had to change his position to left wing as Theo Walcott played on the right wing and was usually substituted for Andrei Arshavin who had an extraordinary season for Arsenal despite coming off the bench. Robin Van Persie still stood up as a sole
striker for the Gunners.
Arsenal were coping well with this formation. They even managed to surprise the best European side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 with the same tactics; however, Barcelona were too strong in their fort the Nou Camp and they won the game 3-1 in order to qualify for the next round
of the UEFA Champions League.
