The reigning French Champions crashed out of the Champions League with another defeat in the competition on Wednesday.
Rene Girard’s side travelled to London with a hope to clinch at least a point on road, but the Gunners proved too strong for the struggling club.
Younes Belhanda went close for the visitors but apart from that, it was all Arsenal, as the hosts comfortably won 2-0 at the Emirates. The result has put Arsenal in a good position to fight for the top spot in the group.
La Paillade have failed to perform well in their debut Champions League campaign and the fans would be disappointed with their team’s performance.
Bettor.com now takes a look at Montpellier’s players who took part in 2-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal on Wednesday.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Geoffrey-Jourdren-c14538
The Montpellier shot stopper was a mere spectator in the first half and could do little about either of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s goal. His defenders let him down and to blame the Frenchman for the goals would be wrong.
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international wanted to win in London but his own performance was woeful at the Emirates. He was at fault for Arsenal’s second goal and lost possession on more than one occasion.
H. Bedimo
One of the better performers for the reigning French champions but couldn’t do much to help his side’s cause. Made some good passes to the midfielder but in result was caught out of position at the back.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Congré-c9934
Arsenal put Congre in all kinds of trouble and the player failed to deal with Arsenal’s wide players.
Abdelhamid El Kaoutari
Why was he even on the pitch? El Kaoutari failed to impose himself in game and was caught sleeping on numerous occasions. Carzola and Arteta easily went past him and the player failed to keep Oxlade-Chamberlain fairly in check. A woeful performance from
the Montpellier player.
Mathieu Deplagne
Looked confident in the first half but was over-run in midfield after the interval. Arsenal’s trio of Carzola, Arteta and Wilshere proved too strong for Deplagne, but he cannot be blamed for La Paillade’s poor performance.
Younes Belhanda
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morocco-c2961 international was once again the best player for reigning French champions. Tried his luck from distance in the first half and created a number of opportunities for his teammates only to be let down by some poor finishing.
It won’t be a surprise if Belhanda leaves Montpellier in the summer keeping in mind the woeful form of La Paillade in Ligue 1 and Europe.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Estrada-c23693 Quinteros
A poor performance from Quinteros, and was also let down by his fellow players. Was reduced to try his luck from outside the box without a positive outcome and Rene Girard would be wondering why he decided to start with Quinteros.
Rémy Cabella
Not a bad performance from Cabella keeping in mind Montpellier’s overall display. Troubled Arsenal on the pitch by some neat movement on the right flank. However, struggled in the second half and was withdrawn with 20 minutes to go.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anthony-Mounier-c6224
A very very poor performance from the Montpellier forward. Rene Girard was counting on him but the player failed to repay the faith shown in him by the boss. One of his worst performances of the season.
Gaetan Charbonnier
Could have done better in the first half but dragged his shot wide. A wasteful performance from the forward.
