The Toulouse man has been in excellent form for Les Pitchouns this season and English Premier League sides http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 are keeping tabs on the Tunisian international
When http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aymen-Abdennour-c7064 committed to Toulouse last summer, there was a lot of scepticism aimed at him. If the potential of the Tunisian was undeniable, there were a lot of question marks over his move to Toulouse especially after he failed to do well at German
Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in 2010.
However, the youngster made the right decision as did Toulouse and now, both are reaping benefits of a partnership that has seen the club rise in the Ligue 1 standings.
In 26 appearances this season, Aymen Abdennour has scored 2 goals and has proved to be a great defender.
While talking to the media, the Tunisian spoke about the reasons behind his failure in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904. Abdennour says that when he joined Werder Bremen, he had no experience of playing in Europe and he could not settle down in extreme cold conditions which he was
never used to.
Furthermore, the Tunisian was asked to play as a left-back when he was more comfortable as a central defender.
“I was too young when I left http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tunisia-c3025, I did not speak the language, it was cold during training. I was not used to that. I went there to play as a central defender but the coach asked me to play left-back. I did not say anything, I agreed. I was professional
but I played on the left, a position I did not like.”
However, things have changed for the talented defender this season and he has shown a lot of maturity during his time with the Pink City club.
“People said, Aymen, you should go to Toulouse because it is a good club for young people, a young club with a good coaching staff.”
However, reports claim that the defender is attracting considerable interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton and Toulouse could be in for a hard time in a bid to keep hold of a defender who has been so instrumental for Alain Casanova’s side
this season.
