Arsenal and Manchester City target Radamel Falcao could opt to join Chelsea
Arsenal and Manchester City target, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276 is now edging close to signing for Chelsea. The Poro hit-man, who was previously rumoured to be on his way to North London, seems to be more inclined to following in the footsteps of his former manager,
Andre Villas-Boas as opposed to heading into new pastures.
Villas-Boas recently went on to sign a three year contract with the Blues, after the manager successfully went on to help Porto win the League and Europa League last season.
Following his arrival at Chelsea, it was believed that the manager would be looking to bring in a number of his former key players to Stamford Bridge.
Based on that, it was only obvious for Villas-Boas to try and bring in Falcao, the player who went on to score countless, valuable goals for the team, that ultimately made their success possible.
Falcao, who has been made aware about the possibility of him now joining http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, is quoted to have said:"I am leaving things up to my agent"
"I am very calm about the situation but I know there has been some movement.
"My ambition is to keep working hard and I am convinced I can play in a superior league like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
"If Chelsea is interested in me then all that needs to happen is for negotiations to take place."
If Chelsea do want to land their man, then they are going to have to fork out twenty six million pounds to do so. This is because, the Porto club president, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pinto-c30032 da Costa has clearly stated that if either one of his players are to leave the club, then their
suitors will have to pay top dollar to secure their services.
Da http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Costa-c9458 is quoted to have said: "If there are termination clauses we have to prepare for the possibility that a player will leave at the value set out.
"But I am not going to negotiate that price with anyone.”
Keeping those statements in mind, it is fairly easy to assume that Arsenal didn’t really a chance at securing Falcao’s services, in the first place. The team has almost always been rather reluctant on spending big, in order to land players and that was probably
going to be the case once again.
On the other hand, both Chelsea and Manchester City are equally capable of forking out ridiculous amounts of cash on players and that is bound to make this transfer a whole lot interesting.
In the end, the capture of Falcao might come down to who matches the release clause the fastest and with both teams ready to spend, it is now a race to the finish.
