Arsenal and Newcastle United fined by the FA – Premier League News
The English FA have gone on to confirm that both Arsenal and Newcastle United will have to pay a fine, for their players actions in both the teams opening fixtures in the English Premier League.
During the game, Gervinho fell down in the Newcastle box and was then picked up by Joey Barton via his shirt. The two then exchanged some heated words, before their teammates came in to break up the fight. However, Gervinho managed to prod Barton’s face
with his fingers and the Newcastle midfielder fell to the ground clutching his face. As a result, Gervinho was shown a red card, while Barton was shown a yellow.
The two sides tried to appeal their fine, but it was overturned by the FA, who have asked the teams to pay up the required fee.
A statement on the FA website read: “An Independent Regulatory Commission today [Tuesday] found both Newcastle United and Arsenal guilty of failing to control their players.

“The charges relate to an incident during their recent league fixture at St James’ Park on Saturday August 13.

“Both clubs denied the charge and requested a non-personal hearing. In each case, the charge was proven by the Regulatory Commission and both clubs have been fined £30,000.”
Newcastle haven’t taken to the news that they have to fork out extra cash very nicely, as they are now locking to a written explanation, which highlights just why the team is being fined.  At the same time, there have been no words from Arsenal regarding
the situation, as the team seems to be willing to pay the fine and not delay the FA’s ruling any further.
It is rather amazing to see the FA rule both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Newcastle guilty of unlawful conduct in the game. Barton had easily taken to the offensive and forced Gervinho to retaliate. At the same time, it is unclear as to how a tap on the other players face
is a worse offence, then going on to lift someone clear off the floor by nothing but their shirt.
Barton has a history of causing havoc on the pitch and sooner or later it is going to come back to haunt him.
A red card in your opening game of the season is bound to cause a player to fell a little down, but hopefully http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755 won’t let the card affect him too much and will try to perform even better when he takes to the field for the Gunners.
