Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur looking to battle it out for Porto’s Falcao
It seems like the summers are going to play out another North London derby. This is because, both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are looking to make a move for Colombian forward, Falcao. The striker, who has had a rather impressive season with Porto, went
on to have a brilliant goal scoring run with the Portuguese club and as a result, both the Premier League teams are looking to land the forward.
Representatives of the player are quoted to have said: "Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are the two clubs that are keen to sign him, and have already tabled an offer for Falcao."
What is rather impressive about the interest shown from both these teams, is the fact that Falcao’s current buyout clause is set at a massive twenty six million pounds. It was previously thought impossible for Arsene Wenger to spend that much on a single
striker, but it seems like the manager is planning to change his ways, by landing the Colombian.
The player’s representatives then went on to state: "The club that matches that clause has a good chance of signing him. Porto want to open contract talks and offer him a new and improved deal to insert a higher minimum fee release clause."
However, Falcao’s father has also gone on to release a statement, regarding his son’s future. He went on to add that the Colombian has always dreamed of playing in the Premier League and that he was looking to make a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, by taking up English
classes in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984.
His father is reported to have said: “All his life he has wanted to play in English football"
"He also finds the Italian and Spanish leagues attractive. It depends on the club. But he hopes it’s in English football."
"He speaks some English. He’s been learning it for five or six years.”
From the looks of things, one of the two North London clubs could possibly end up making one of the signings of the season. This is because Falcao has proven his worth this term with Porto and should he keep up the same form, he could go on to cause havoc
and destruction in the Premier League.
However, that being said, it is unclear as to which team is going to end up winning the race to land the striker. Both teams are equally as good as the other at the moment, however, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 have the edge of playing in the Champions League play-offs, while
Tottenham are in the Europa League.
