Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur looking to sign Diego Milito from Inter Milan
It is being reported that both, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, are going to be embarking on another North London derby, only the teams won’t be battling it out on the field, but would instead be going head to head in the transfer market. Both, the Gunners
and the Spurs, are looking to make a move to snap up http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Milito-c11166 from Inter Milan.
The Argentinian striker, who seems to be looking at not winning any trophies with the Italian side this term, is looking to fulfil his desire to play in the Premier League before he retires and hence both teams are on high-alert to land the player.
At the moment, it seems like the striker's choice between the two teams could greatly be influenced by which side makes it to the UEFA Champions League next season. Arsenal are almost confirmed a spot in Europe, while Tottenham have a lot of work on their
hands, if they are to make the tournament for the second season running.
Tottenham’s manager, Harry Redknapp has been looking to bring in new fire power to his striker force since January and it seems like he feels that Milito could be just the player to do that.
The forward has gone on to make sixty nine appearances for the Italian side, while having scored thirty seven goals along the way, after arriving at the start of the 2009 season. The striker also went on to score both of Inter’s goals in the UEFA Champions
League final in 2009-2010, against Bayern Munich and those two goals proved to be just enough to help the Italians clinch the trophy.
Arsenal seem to be looking to bring in a striker, who they can pair up with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 up-front and hope that the missed chances from this season, don’t go on to repeat themselves next season. However, it seems highly unlikely that the team are going
to pursue the forward with as much might as Tottenham. This is because Milito is currently 31 years old and seems to suffer from the same amount of injury problems that Van Persie suffers from, which means that should the team sign the player, it would be
like having not one, but two injury prone strikers who can only play parts of the season.
Nonetheless, according to most experts, the fact that the forward might be available for as low as five million pounds, is going to get both teams on the edge of their seats to try and land him. However, should the player be made available for a transfer,
a number of other teams are also bound to join the race to sign him in the coming weeks.
