Amid reports of the Spanish striker eyeing the English Premier League, Arsenal and Tottenham have been alerted on the prospective signing.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Llorente-c13671 has so far had a season to forget at Spanish La Liga outfit, Athletic Bilbao.
The striker has completely been out of favour and has had to endure the taunts and jeers of the home faithful on several occasions.
Llorente is seen as a bad boy by the home side’s support as he has repeatedly turned down contract offers from the club’s board.
The striker has been frozen out of the first team as he refused to sign a new deal with the San Mames outfit.
The striker has however stated that the reason not to commit himself with a new deal at San Mames is not money-based, as he turned down the club’s recent deal, which was termed as very lucrative and irresistible by him.
Following his continuously deteriorating situation, many clubs have gone on to chase the tall striker and reports are suggesting that Juventus, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Tottenham are seen as favourites to lure the striker.
Llorente has had an excellent goal-scoring record to his name as he was the top Spanish goal scorer in La Liga in the previous season.
The Bilbao man’s heroics led his team to two major finals in the previous season, in the UEFA Europa League and Copa del Rey, however Athletic went on to lose both of them.
Llorente’s deal is set to expire in June and he would then be available for a free transfer.
Tottenham and Arsenal are looking to hold talks with the camp of the striker in order to agree terms pre-hand.
Llorente has also talked about taking the challenge of playing in the Premier League.
"I really like the Premier League and I've said on more than one occasion it's a League that appeals to me.”
"You never know. It's one good option in terms of my future but we'll have to wait until the end of the season to see what happens. I'm trying to keep it in the hands of my brother and my representatives so I can focus on football."
Athletic have rejected Llorente’s request to leave in the January transfer window and will be offloading the striker without a transfer fee in June.
