UEFA Champions League: “Arsenal can beat Barcelona” http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicklas-Bendtner-c27726
23-year-old Danish international, Nicklas Bendtner, believes that Arsenal can beat Barcelona in the final 16 of UEFA Champions League.
‘Arsenal can purely match Barcelona as far as Football skills are concerned,’ the Gunners striker said.
The first leg clash will be played on Wednesday night at the Emirates Stadium while the second - legged encounter is scheduled on Tuesday 8 March, 2011 at Camp Nou.
Barcelona’s unbeaten run of 16 games came to an end after a 1 - 1 draw against Sporting Gijon on Saturday. Gijon played defensively and their manager, Pep Guardiola stated that the tactic had made the life for Barca a bit difficult. Though Arsenal have never
changed their style so dramatically, Bendter believes that the Gunners can still win the game by playing the game they are known for.
The Spanish club is in a wonderful run currently, but the No. 52 of Arsenal said, “I would like to think that we are one of the few teams that can match Barcelona for pure football skill, I like to believe that we have great players as well, and that we
have a similar style to Barcelona.”
The Gunners lost on 6 - 3 aggregate to Camp Nou in the Champions League knockout round last year. The Arsenal striker asserted that the result would be different from last year’s Champions League clash. He further stated that Arsenal have a great potential
to comeback strongly and Emirates Stadium [Arsenal] have bounced back from disappointments many times.
The Gunner center forward added, “It's going to be massive against Barcelona, but it will help us that we played them last year - it always helps when you have some experience.”
Both teams are strong and known for their agility and mobility but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 have a good telepathic connection, as far as cross-passing is concerned.
Ironically FC Barcelona is unbeaten this year but they might lose their potency on the field as the 32-year-old skipper is injured. Arsenal are a bit more aggressive with a free-flowing attack with Van Persie, Arshavin and Walcott.
Meanwhile, the Gunners will be given a boost with the presence of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 who is likely to feature against Barca. The French has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in January, and has shown good recovery. Manager, Arsene Wenger has
revealed that he will not rule him out. However, if Nasri is still doubtful, 19-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463 will start the game.
