Chelsea’s disastrous run in the Premier League continues as Arsenal finally end the losing run against their London rivals at the Emirates. In a match that the Gunners dominated almost from start to finish, it was Arsenal that came on top by 3-1. The win
takes Arsenal on 2nd place in the league table with 35 points. They are level on points with Manchester City but are ahead on goal difference and also have played a game less. Meanwhile Chelsea remains on the 4th spot with 31 points from 18 games and now are
without a win in their last 6 games in the league. That is a statistic that one does not normally associate with the defending champions. As a result, the job of Manager Carlo Ancelotti has certainly come under a dark cloud, and it is only natural that many
pundits are asking questions about the approach and style of the Italian manager.

The first half saw Arsenal dominate the play but without goals, and it was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. The away side did get one goal
back from a set piece but that was all they got and Arsenal hung on for a much deserved win.

As soon as the match kicked off, there was a sense of tension and nervousness among the Chelsea players, while Arsenal team looked full of confidence and up for the big game. That may be due to the lack of form for Chelsea. Arsenal got on the front foot and
started to dominate the proceedings in the early part of the game. The typical one touch football from Arsene Wenger’s young guns was there for everyone to see. Chelsea did have their chances here and there but none were clear enough to make a goal scoring
opportunity. Just on the stroke of half time, the home team finally got the goal. It was Alex Song who started the move on the edge of the box and was also on the end of the move and slid one past Peter Cech to make it one nil. Arsenal could not have chosen
a better time to take the lead as Chelsea did not have much time to respond and the half ended at 1-0.

The 2nd half saw Chelsea employ a much more congested approach and tried to keep hold of the ball. But a reckless giveaway in the midfield saw Walcott racing free towards the Chelsea goal and as Peter Cech raced towards him, he laid it off to Cesc Fabregas
who calmly slotted it into the empty net to make it 2-0. Just 2 minutes later Fabregas returned the favour and slipped a pass for Walcott who drilled it under Cech to make it 3-0.

Chelsea looked shell shocked with the 2 quick goals in the 2nd half and manager, Carlo Ancelotti, made a couple of changes to manipulate the flow of the game. It almost worked instantly as Ivanovic headed in a goal from a set piece. However that was as good
as it got for Chelsea as Arsenal shut up shop after that goal. Arsene Wenger’s team won the game 3-1 and broke the long run of defeats at the hands of Chelsea.
