Arsenal call back Cesc Fabregas for training session in 3 weeks
The Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has been told that the star midfielder will have to return to the pre season training sessions before the start of the next month. The highly sought skipper will try to enjoy most of his 3 week break with his Spanish team mates after they captured the World Cup.
He currently is in Madrid where he is enjoying the ongoing celebrations of the tournament with his team mates. The Spanish tem defeated Netherlands in an intense encounter in which Fabregas assisted Andres Iniesta in a late goal in the 2nd half of extra time.
Rife rumours suggested that the Gunner’s player will be heading off to the Spanish giants, Barcelona. Though Barca have now diminished somewhat and now it seems that his transfer will not take place this season; just like Arsene Wenger had predicted.
Wenger has also informed him that he has to return for the training of North Londoners at their training site at London Colney before the start of the season. The manager of the Gunners told that Fabregas was an extremely important component of his team and it was essential for both Fabregas and Wenger to be prepared for the match on 7th against Legia Warszawa and the next showdown against Liverpool on the15th of August.
It has been reported that Fabregas will not be included in the Emirates Cup matches with AC Milan and Celtic that will take place in the last week of July. However, he might be observing the match along with the team.
Wenger has time and again declined offers by the Catalans on Fabregas who they are desperate to sign. Fabregas was originally from Barca but he left the club when he was 16 years old because he was being over shadowed by players like Iniesta and Xavi back then. Barca has bid over 40 million pounds for the player but Wenger wants to start the deal at at least 60 million pounds.
There have been issues and reservations because of this between Wenger and Fabregas, both stating that they will work in interest of their desired clubs; the recent incident when Barca defenders Carlos Puyol and Gerard Pique made Fabregas wear a shirt of Barca in the streets of Madrid where more than 250,000 people were present.
Fabregas has clarified on the incident stating that it was nothing more than a practical jest but that does not undermine his desire to play for his former club. Fabregas on the same topic expressed, “These are things that happen at special moments, and I don't think it should be gone on about much more because it was just another anecdote of a great night, a great celebration”.
He further explained, “There are times we do not even know what we do, so everything can be forgiven. Pepe (Reina) took me there (to the front of the stage), the truth is that I didn't know anything like that was going to happen and so I was a bit surprised”.
The 23 year old prodigy had 19 assists and 19 goals last season. He added on the Barca shirt incident saying that it was a harmless joke, “At first I thought it was a flag or something, but it's nothing. You had to enjoy it and if it's a way to have fun, it's nothing”.
Wenger and Fabregas had quite a misunderstanding earlier before Cesc travelled to South Africa for the tournament. Before he went Wenger and the midfielder had a little chat in which they told that they had reached a mutual understanding but the statements that followed certainly did not show that. Fabregas commented on the shirt incident, “I think now the less said about the subject the better, because these things are worse for everyone when they come to light and people talk more about the matter. Right now we have to be very calm and what will be will be”.
