Arsene Wenger, the manager of Arsenal, believes that his team has a great chance of winning the league this season. Earlier, Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, had said that it is a three way battle and anyone from United, Arsenal or Chelsea can
win it. But on Friday, Manchester City’s assistant manager, Brian Kidd, said that Manchester United are by far favourites to lift the trophy, and it is only their title to lose from now on. Arsene Wenger, though, disagrees. He said that it can indeed be assumed
as United are doing well and sit pretty at the top but one should not forget that the season is just half way through and there is still a lot of football to be played.
Wenger said, "It's an opinion that you can understand because United are top of the league at the moment. But what we have learned is that it is very, very open. Four or five teams can win the [Premier League] title."
Arsenal had a turbulent week; the Gunners hammered Chelsea 3-1 at the Emirates. But the follow up match was a bit disappointing where they dropped 2 points against Wigan in a 2-2 draw. Arsenal is currently in 3rd place behind Manchester United
and Manchester City who are on top 2 slots.
Arsene Wenger said that many people make the assumption that a team that can have a good run can win the league. Wenger added that winning the league is not like a sprint but it is a marathon. The Frenchman went on to say that the team with depth in squad
and players with stronger character would be able to win the league in May.
English Premier League this season has really become much more of a level playing field. For the last few years it was pretty much understood that it was Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea who would be the only ones to have any realistic chance of winning

Arsenal for that matter have been there but have not yet hit peak form and neither have they been lacklustre so far. Arsene Wenger believes when his team hits their stride this season, they would make a serious bid for the Premier League title after 5 seasons.
Wenger said that his team has been going through a rebuilding period for the last few seasons, and the time is right for his young brigade to take the next step and reclaim the Premier League.
