Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas determined to beat Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League secong-leg clash
Arsenal’s captain and prolific midfielder, Cesc Fabregas has come forth and stated that when he takes on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 tonight, he will have nothing else on his mind but to see his side come out on top in the tie. The player also stated that he would give it
his all to help his side progress to the quarter-finals and ensure that they manage to use their one goal advantage in their favour.
This trip to the Camp Nou is going to be the first that Fabregas makes as an Arsenal player, after having left the team as youngster for the Gunners. The player is also going to be making this journey amidst numerous speculations linking him heavily with
a potential move back to Spain.
The Spanish world cup winner was initially considered to be a doubt for the game, due to the fact that he was suffering from another hamstring injury. However, he doesn't seem too concerned about that at the moment.
The 23-year-old midfielder is reported to have said, "I am not here to shut up comments or to beat anyone specifically or whatever. I am just here to win for Arsenal Football Club,"
"I don't put anything extra in my head because I play against Barcelona in the Nou Camp. We want to do well for the club and we want to get through to the next stage of the Champions League. There is nothing more to it than that - we just want to go through
and get to the quarter-final." added the Arsenal captain.
At the moment, it seems like almost all of Arsenal’s squad is going to be making the trip to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804, both of whom have failed to recover from their ankle and knee knocks respectively.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Robin Van Perise managed to state that he was fully-fit and rearing to go yesterday. As a result, it seems that the player who has often been deemed to be made of glass, is on route to Spain with the rest of the Gunners
squad, having recovered around two to three weeks before he was expected to.
Having already beaten the Catalans in the first-leg of the encounter, Arsenal are going to have to do their best to maintain the pressure on the Spanish team. This is because now, they would be playing at the Spanish club's home and all the pressure would
be on the North London club to retain their one goal advantage.
In order for Arsenal to win, they are going to have to get Cesc Fabregas to pull in a performance for the ages. With the midfielder set to go off against the likes of Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta, Fabregas is going to have to be on key and not miss
a single chance or pass in the game.
If the midfielder manages to do just that, then he could potentially single-handedly keep a hold of the midfield for Arsenal. Which as we all know, is one of the few potential ways to beat Barcelona.
All in all, tonight’s game is going to be a must watch for every footballing fan as it is guaranteed to be a game for the ages.
