Cesc Fabregas and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873, have provided a major setback to the Arsenal fans ahead of their clash with Birmingham city in the Carling Cup final.
The 21-year-old Walcott has been ruled out from the Carling cup final due to his sprained ankle, while Cesc Fabregas' hamstring injury also keeps him doubtful for the match. The Carling Cup final will be played between the Birmingham City and Arsenal on
Sunday at the Wembley stadium.
Arsenal manager, Arsene wenger has confirmed the news about Walcott's absence from the final. The England International, Walcott, injured his ankle in Arsenal's 1-0 win over Stoke city, when he collided with Stoke’s midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dean-Whitehead-c10729 in the 68th
minute of the match. Walcott was forced out of the ground on a stretcher.
Commenting on Walcott’s injury, Wenger said, "Theo Walcott has an ankle sprain and he is out. For how long, I don't know, but he is definitely out of Sunday."
While the assessment of Fabregas' hamstring problem will take place on Thursday, Arsene Wenger revealed.
"Fabregas has a hamstring problem. We will assess that tomorrow. It is impossible to see how serious it is tonight. We will know tomorrow," added the Arsenal manager.
Arsenal managed to close the gap with Manchester Untied by getting three crucial points against Stoke but at the cost of some serious injuries. The second placed Arsenal are now only one point behind the league toppers, Manchester United.
Arsenal, who haven’t won a single trophy in the last six years, will fancy their chances against Birmingham City. It will be hard for the Gunners to enter the ground without their inspirational captain, Fabregas and Versatile forward, Walcott. Walcott has
been in his prime form, scoring 11 goals in this English Premier League season.
Arsenal weren’t able to dominate the match against Stoke City but the seventh minute header from Sebastien Squillaci turned the match in their favour. The 61-year-old Arsene Wenger will keep his hopes alive from Wojciech Szczensy, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Johan-Djourou-c18779 and Jack
Wilshere to help them getting to the victory line over Alex McLeish’s team.
The England winger Walcott's and the Spanish International Fabregas' absence at the Wembley stadium on Sunday would hurt Arsenal big time. The statistics do prove the point that Arsenal's win percentage has shot-up whenever Fabregas had played for Arsene
Wenger's team. Out of 47 matches, Arsenal have won 32 times with Fabregas and lost just 8..
Arsenal coach further said, "It is of course a concern that he (Fabregas) is injured, but it happens unfortunately. He was very upset. I am as well. But it is not his fault or mine”.
