Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen is happy at the club – Football news
Arsenal’s captain and Belgian international, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002 has revealed that he is quite happy with life at the Emirates, and insisted that he has no plans of leaving the team.
When talking about life at the North London club and how it has gotten a little frustrating in recent months, the centre back is reported to have said, “I'm happy at Arsenal. I didn't play much and that was frustrating, but things can turn around quickly.”
“I was on the bench, but I could just as quickly be playing again. I'm working hard to make that happen. These are things that happen in professional football. Arsenal are a great club where there is a lot of competition,” he added.
The defender promoted to becoming the team’s captain at the start of the season, but following that promotion, he has seen himself fall down the pecking order at the club.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Laurent-Koscielny-c21742 have gone on to form a very solid pairing at the back, and this has left Vermaelen stranded on the sidelines. The defender has found it close to impossible to break into the starting eleven and this seems to be one of
the reasons why everyone is linking him with a move away from the club.
This season has been a rather odd one for Vermaelen. There are not many captains out there who spend most of their time on the sidelines.
This lack of playing time is what has led many to believe that Vermaelen could in fact be on his way out of the club.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 have been looking to sign a new centre back, one who is younger and a little more versatile. Now this is something which is rather interesting. The team could be looking to add depth to their squad, but the timing of things makes us wonder if Vermaelen
is actually going to be leaving the team.
There have been a number of stories linking the player with a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Bayern Munich. This is why it is going to be a wait to see just what the future holds in store for the centre back.
