Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood offers Arsene Wenger his support – Premier League News
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 chairman Peter Hill-Wood has gone on to offer Gunners manager Arsene Wenger his support and has gone on to lash out at the rumours stating that the manager could be on his way out of the club.
This past summer Wenger had a number of fingers raised at him, following his decision making for the club. The manager allowed both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 and Cesc Fabregas to leave the club, despite there not being a single player who had the experience and skill
set to replace either player.
The loss of the dynamic duo proved to be a reality check for the Gunners, as when they took on Manchester United, they were thumped by a scored line of eight goals to two. That loss proved to be the worst defeat in over a hundred years for Arsenal.
Following that defeat and Wenger’s stubbornness to spend big, many assumed that the time for the manager to leave was now or never. However, Hill-Wood has gone on to rubbish these rumours and has stated that the board are more than just happy with the way
Wenger is handling the situation at the club.
"It's complete and utter rubbish and absolute nonsense. I think he is happy enough and we are happy enough"
Wenger has signed Oxlade-Chamberlain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yossi-Benayoun-c37520
and Andre http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c32532, were all brought into the club on the last day of the transfer window.
The addition of these players to the team proved be just what Wenger needed, to win over the fans and the boards trust once again.
When talking about the new signings at the club, Hill-Wood is quoted to have said: "We have brought some new players in and although I don't know that much about many of them I think, generally speaking, they are going to improve the squad”
However, the chairman admitted that despite all that’s going on, nothing changes the fact that Fabregas was sold to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 for a significantly low amount, as compared to his true value. These words only lead us to believe that it was in fact the player’s
decision to move out and not the manager’s.
Hill-Wood said: "He is absolutely right - they did get him on the cheap. But he wanted to go back there and we respected that."
