Arsenal choose not to appeal against UEFA bans for Arsene Wenger and Samir Nasri
Arsene Wenger, the manager of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360, the team's mid-fielder have decided to serve the one-match ban for the next Campion’s league fixture and not make an appeal. The Gunners duo was banned by UEFA on account of using inappropriate language
following their defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605.
The French manager was fined an amount of £8,816 (€10,000), after he was found guilty of offensive conduct for calling the Swiss referee Massimo Busacca embarrassing, following his team’s 3-1 defeat to Barca, which knocked Arsenal out of the UEFA Champions
League.
Nasri has also been banned for one match for his own reproachful remarks about the Swiss official.
Arsenal's grumble started with the Swiss after he gave a controversial yellow card to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380, the team's striker, for shooting at the goal a second after the whistle was blown for off-side, the player asserted that he had not taken any notice of
it.
The Dutch player has claimed that he could not hear the whistle due to the crowd in the stadium which was more than 95,000.
Talking on the matter, Arsene Wenger said, "It's not a surprise the referee didn't book a single Barcelona player. I just spoke to Uefa people. They are shocked as well. He killed a promising, fantastic football match. What for? If it's a bad tackle it's
a second bookable offence but the way he did it is embarrassing if you love the game. How can you kill a football game like that? It was a very promising game, very interesting, that's the regret."
He also congratulated Barcelona, mentioning that his team lost to a strong side but he regrets the fact that the Gunners lost the game in such a manner.
Arsenal had to play the remaining match with 10 players which lead to a 3-1 loss for the Gunners, and rooted their exit from Europe for the second successive season.
The Gunners might have welded in for a formal appeal, but the affair will now not be advanced further. Wenger has decided to move on without giving much heed to the ban or the fine, something that might suggest the manager is guilty as charged.
